Wealthy British businessman and philanthropist Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, announced that on February 22 a concert will be held in the Colombian city of Cúcuta with Luis Fonsi, Alejandro Sanz and Juanes to raise funds for Venezuela.
“Our goal is to raise 100 million dollars in 60 days and reopen the Venezuelan border so that humanitarian aid can finally reach the millions of people who need it the most,” the businessman said in a video posted on Twitter.
Among the guest artists are also Ricardo Montaner, Juan Luis Guerra, Fonseca, JBalvin, Carlos Vives, Nacho, Anitta, Mau and Ricky, Danny Ocean, Alesso Dj and youtubers Marko, Lele Pons and Rudy Mancuso, among others.

According to Branson, the interim president of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, and another opposition leader, Leopoldo Lopez, asked him for help with the goal of organizing “a beautiful concert to attract world attention,” he detailed in the video.
He also commented that the event “will be broadcast live to millions of people around the world.”
100% of the donations collected in the “Concert for freedom” will be destined to the most needy of Venezuela, said the Branson.
In Cúcuta, the humanitarian aid sent by the United States to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela is being stockpiled.
Guiadó reported that medical supplies and food stored in Cúcuta will enter his country on February 23 with the support of volunteers, the Catholic Church and several NGOs.
